about me. 

My name is Caitlin (go by Cait on here, though) and I’m Canadian. To be more specific, I’m from the East Coast (and no, this does not mean Toronto). I’m really, really proud to be Canadian even though I do not own a toque or enjoy maple syrup. I live in a really, really small town (population 1,000) with a pizza shop (that sucks), a convenience store (that sucks slightly less), a candy store that doubles as a place to get hunting licenses, a Catholic church, a Tim Hortons, and an elementary school. Pretty much the essentials, right?

I’m 23 years old and I currently possess a BA degree in both English Literature and Psychology (double major). I’m also about halfway through my second degree (B.Ed.), which will allow me to teach (English and History) at both the junior and senior high school levels. Once I finish this degree, I plan to take a bit of a break, find a stable job, and then, sometime in the (hopefully near) future, obtain a MA degree in English literature. I’m a bit of a perpetual student.

I love watching television. It’s a major part of my life. I can sort of hide it around certain groups of people, but if you know me for any length of time, chances are I’m going to start going off about Battlestar Galactica or Lost. Basically I love dramas and comedies, and if they’re made in the U.K. then I’ll probably love them more. Science Fiction is my favourite genre and I love anything that has to do with space.

I also love music. I play guitar (both electric and acoustic), piano (was in lessons for a long time until I became bored), clarinet (okay so I only played this while in school), and I sing. I was in a garage band for about 5 years. These days I spend a lot of time writing my own acoustic material and one of these days I will put out a self-recorded EP (and by ‘put out’ I mean make a few CDs and give one to my mom and BFF). I love rock, indie, pop, pop-punk and punk, mostly. 80’s and 90’s pop is always good, too.

In my spare time (which is quite plentiful), I like to lurk on the internet, make graphics/icons, paint my nails, watch television, paint pictures, bake (I’m an awesome baker what can I say), play guitar/piano/sing, read/write, and play foolish games on my iPad.
